Accounting/Operations Manager role:
The Accounting/operations manager will plan and direct the accounting and operations support activities of the company, including HR/payroll administration. Applicants must be US based and able to work in our office in the Reston/McLean VA area. Prior experience/understanding of business operations in technology and consulting would be a significant plus for this role. Qualified individual will already have held a similar position with all these responsibilities in another company.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
· Manages the accounting and operations support staff and performs related tasking. Accounting and operations staff are responsible for financial reporting, accounts receivable, billing, accounts payable ,collections, payroll, and budget preparation, employee benefits, recruiting support, new employee orientation, government regulation, tax and contract compliance, and assisting our sales and services departments.
· Recruits and hires accounting and operations support staff and conducts performance evaluations. Working with the Sr Resource Manager.
· Coordinates training programs for new staff and identifies training needs for current staff.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Performs accounting and operations staff activities.
· Establishes internal controls and guidelines for accounting transactions and budget preparation.
Recommends and defines business process and procedure improvements for department.
· Oversees preparation of business activity reports, financial forecasts, and annual budgets.
· Oversees the production of periodic financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
· Responsible for income tax planning throughout the fiscal year; files annual corporate tax return, as well as appropriate state and local income tax returns.
· Audits accounts to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations; coordinates with external auditors and provides needed information for the annual external audit/review/compilation.
· Presents recommendations to management on short- and long-term financial objectives and policies.
· Provides financial analysis with an emphasis on capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.
· Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.
· Manages and supports company administration needs and performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.

Education and Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting required.
· Six years or more of related experience required.
Certified Public Accountant designation preferred
