This position is part of our company’s Finance/HR administrative team supporting our business executives and employees.
Metaformers (Meta) is a small sized business offering consulting services to clients across the U.S. Applicants must be US based and able to work in our office in the Reston/McLean VA area.
Responsibilities - Payroll: Payroll processing in a multi-state organization: Collect and manage payroll data, ensuring timely and accurate monthly payroll process. Coordinate the full cycle of payroll process. Track payroll requirements for employees across multiple states. Researching, understanding, and applying payroll requirements for each state. Including tax (state/local), unemployment, and benefit/insurance requirements. Maintain accurate payroll records for each employee, including verifying salary increases, calculating bonuses. Reconcile payroll files with payroll bank account. Provide reports required by management for company financial management. Work with payroll company to audit and confirm taxes and other requirements are up to date
Responsibilities -Benefits Administration: Oversee open enrollment, work with benefits plan broker, handle benefits updates throughout the year, and provide ongoing support to employees for benefits inquiries and claim issues. Communicate updates and announcements to both management and employees.
Additional Responsibilities:
An individual is expected to be the Lead and carry out payroll and benefit year-end tasks.
Ensure company compliance with employment laws/regulations in areas of equal pay, work leave etc. Handle any necessary filings.
Stay up to date on HR laws and regulations to ensure the company is always compliant. Provide regular updates to management and ensure company policies and employee handbooks are revised and maintained, as necessary.
Maintain and update the HR section on SharePoint for internal communication. Record and maintain employee data in the Centrally HR system.
Qualifications: Must have 2+ years’ prior hands-on experience in Payroll including proficiency with payroll systems. Familiarity with multi-state payroll and benefits administration a plus. Experience with Benefits Administration (standard benefit plans) and HR (employee data, legal compliance) and ability to manage these areas (mentoring will be provided). Strong communication/interpersonal skills required for internal management/team interaction and external for working with a variety of professional vendors and agencies. Organizational skills will include attention to detail, time management, multi-tasking, ability to prioritize tasks, deadline management, efficient data filing, systematic record keeping process.
Salary DOE up to $90K annually Meta offers a full benefit package including 401k.
